The Department of Mechanical Engineering currently offers the foundation support to all 1st year engineering students. The subjects taught by the Department include Engineering Mechanics supplemented with Practical Geometry, Workshop practice and Machine Drawing. With its current faculty strength and facilities available, the Institute plans to expand it to a full-fledged Mechanical Engineering Department offering B.Tech. – Mechanical Engineering degree course from the session 2011-12 with subsequent addition of M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes.
The department has a full-fledged Workshop and a Drawing Hall.
